"On behalf of Canoe Kayak Canada and the Canadian Freestyle Kayak Committee, I am proud to announce that AO Boatwerks and Whitewater Ontario have been selected to host the 2012 Canadian Freestyle Kayak team trials on the Gull River at the Minden Whitewater Preserve. With their combined efforts and experience we foresee a first rate event for our Canadian kayakers. CFKC will monitor and participate in the event as needed but we are now happy to hand over the reigns to the new host. - Robert Zwanenburg"

Madawaska Kanu Centre, a WO Commercial member,  celebrates it's 40th year of whitewater paddling !  It has been a fantastic year, with great water, weather and lots of returning students and staff to help celebrate. The final Open Canoe Slalom will be next wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 12-4 pm.at MKC. There will be open practise on the course all morning. Camping at MKC is available. Contact MKC at 613 756-3620  or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

The first two Open Canoe Slaloms were a blast thanks to organizer Beth Kennedy and local crew. Paul Masons's comment was "it was my daughter's highlight to the summer as the course was friendly enough to make her feel like a champion".
