LAST CHANCE TO RECERTIFY IN THE CKC INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
May 11-13, 2012 at the MWWP on the Gull River
Last chance to Recert in to the CKC whitewater instructor program - for existing Kayak instructors that have prior certification. This will be a nationally run recert at the Gull River MWWP: May 9-13th, 2012. Must be a member of Whitewater Ontario. Course cost: $150 Certification cost: $120 (valid for 3 years).
L3I3 is here ! That is the Leader 3 and Instructor 3 level of the CKC program. A 1.5 day recert is needed for all currently certified CKC instructors that have taken the L2I2. This Recert will take place on May 12th, 2012 at the Hell or High Water event on the Petawawa River, and May 13th, 2012 at the MWWP. Registration through Zone4. Here’s how you too can jump aboard:

Currently certified kayak instructors can re-cert into the CKC program with a 2-day orientation.

New instructors need to first take the Leader certification before they are eligible to take the Instructor certification.

The Leader (or Trip Leader) program is a stand-alone component that is the ideal certification for Clubs, Camps, and Schools that provide whitewater trips.

The combo course, Leader / Instructor, allows candidates to attain both in one course.
- All candidates must be a current Whitewater Ontario members.
- Certification levels stand for whitewater classification – ex Level 2 is certified in Class 2 whitewater. Candidates need to have paddling skills to provide demonstrations and inspire confidence at the certification level.
- The standard CKC Certification fee is $120, valid for three years and is in addition to the course fees.
- Course lengths are pre-determined, as is the evaluation with real students. A 6:1 student : Learning Facilitator ratio for any CKC course. Every Instructor and Leader course must be approved by the Whitewater Ontario Instruction Committee.
