Introduction

The Middle Madawaska runs right outside Madawaska Kanu Centre and is a fairly straightforward river with some technical sections and lots of eddies, boofrocks and some holes for practising skills.

The takeout is in Mud Bay.

Staircase Rapid III

This is a series of rocky ledges with some holes that can be punched or easily avoided. These holes get stickier at higher levels.

Length of run

This run takes 1-2 hours.

Water levels

There is guaranteed water from Monday to Thursday for the school throughout the summer so this section is fairly reliable. The middle section is also fun in highwater during spring and fall.
